What You Need to Know BEFORE Sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line in 2019
Just a post for posterity, since I looked for a definitive answer to this question by searching this forum before, and found nothing.
Carnival Cruise line poker: In 2019 on the Carnival Magic, there was one cash game electronic table with no dealer.
The tournament offered was a winner-take-all sit-n-go which needed 6 players to start.
The games are full of absolutely terrible ridiculously awful players.
But the rake is so goddamn unbearable.
As an aside, we got free alcohol comped every hour or so.
Also the casino on cruise ships smells horrid.
People smoking at the table and nearby constantly.
I made out like a bandit on a Celebrity Cruise.
Yea, the rake isn't ideal, but the bad players make up for it.
I've played this game a bunch on booze cruises to ensenada and a longer one out of Miami.
I've never won less than 1000 on the cruise playing this game.
The rake IS insane but its extremely inviting to drunk people who have played poker a few times before.
Definitely worth the rake and it's 2020 casino deposit palace bonus spin no even close.
I was on a different Carnival ship over Xmas last year, same deal.
The tournament rake was just too high, I noped out of that one.
The cash game was sooooo juicy, though, even with the insane rake.
Almost paid for the cruise.
I think I was the only person at the table capable of clicking the "Raise" or "Fold" buttons.
It was like 2006 called and wanted to play online poker.
What did u end up playing most - cash or tourneys?
Walk away with much profit despite the rake?
Also, dumbest hand you saw by one of these terrible ridiculously awful players?
Only played cash twice.
One night I played for about three hours and literally took every dollar from every single person who sat down, until i was the only one left willing to play, so I went to bed.
A guy to my right loses to a river straight after going All in with aces post flop.
Reloads and after a few hands after a few hands gets aces again.
Goes all in post flop on a 3 4 7 rainbow board and he gets called by Jack 7 of diamonds.
Turn is a brick, River is a jack, he loses his money again and goes to sleep.
I never felt so sorry for a guy in my life.
I worked there for 7 months.
Not Magic thought, some other ships has sports bar right next to casino and I worked in it, poker table was right outside of the bar.
Rake is high indeed but the trada casino bonus 2020 playing there were fucking terrible.
Wished I could sit with them for a while, would probably make more than I did as a waiter.
continue reading of limping and calling preflop, very passive post flop.
But in general there is not that much action at poker.
People prefer slots and other games much more.
Royal Caribbean cruise, I couldn't make any of the tourney.
Only time I made it to the table was one night out of the 6 or whatever, wife had some cupcake decorating thing or some such.
Got to the table right as the tournament was over.
Holy hell, that was a juicy table.
Honestly don't even remember the rake.
The rake is irrelevant on a cruise ship.
Literally anyone who cares enough about poker to read this sub can beat it.
The tourists see it as part of the entertainment cost.
Also the casino on cruise ships smells horrid.
People smoking at the table and nearby constantly.
Didn't use to be that way on some of the smaller ships.
Now on t the newer, bigger ships, they put the learn more here table right next to the casino bar and it's terrible.
I have stopped playing poker because of this.
I'd ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale wait around till it was getting close and see if they wanted to play a cash game or something.
If you're catching this cruise out of Port Canaveral FL you should drive about 20-30 minutes south and check out Club 52 in Melbourne.
I havent gone there in a few years since I live in Colorado now but I used to live right down the street and at the time it was a decent spot to play click games with actual dealers.
I havent played at either Club 52 was the first place I ever played live and I lived right across the source so I never really went anywhere else besides Hard Rock in Ft Lauderdale, but I think someone told me the Daytona Poker room was pretty similar and possibly even had the same owners I live in Denver and I've gone to Black Hawk a few times with friends but they dont play at all and most of those trips I didnt want to seem anti-social going off on my own to play poker, also Denver Poker Tour has really good free to play tournaments every week with cash payouts that I have won quite a few times and would definitely recommend if you're near one click the locations, but mostly I still play online Ignition just because it's requires no prior planning on my part and if I have a few hours to myself and want to play I can just get right to it.
Also the first 3 years I lived in Lakewood and coming home on I70 at 3am is just a beautiful site once you hit lookout mountain.
As I mentioned I came from flat low elevation Central Florida so that drive really blows me away every time.
I never played it myself, mostly paid the bills with cash and weekend mtt's.
Terrible players with 46.
I'll be taking a princess cruise in August; they're owned by Carnival.
Is it the same "deal" with them?
I posted in the megathread on 2+2, and I think someone said they offer cash games.
Gonna make a separate post but on my Princess cruise last fall there was no tourney, only cash games with 15% rake and Click at this page don't believe there was a max rake.
They also raked if there was no flop.
Can you explain why you say 46.
OP said the rake ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale 15% but someone else in the thread also said "Beats the hell out of nearly 50% on Ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale />I was also the one who made the second remark.
If I'm making a dumb math mistake, please advise.
I wasn't thinking about the tournament, I was just hung up on the 15% cash game rake.
What you're saying makes sense.
On a Princess Cruise rake was similarly 15% although I don't remember a maximum.
In my experience the crowd was terrible to play with.
It was mostly old farts and money got pushed around until it quickly ended up with the house.
On the last night everyone went all in on everything.
I played twice- first afternoon there were only 4 of us and rake essentially bled everyone out.
My only take away was seeing everyone's balance going down.
Rebuys constantly but only a couple players up 15-30% of their buy in, everyone else down miserably.
I seriously don't think there was a max rake, because I remember noticing on a fee hands people would go all-in heads up on a small pot and end up losing money to a fold because 15% of their all-in was more than what was at stake.
The players are horrible.
I wasn't playing poker in 2003, but based on what I've heard, that is about where people are at on cruise ship poker.
Players were so, so bad.
Silent nod of approval from DNegs.
If you made a ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale, you would have to rewrite your assignment by hand.
I rewrote almost every paper that year, but it stuck with me.
Your comment reads that you would like to pay the rake after hitting an iceburg.
I had than written, then deleted it and wrote then.
You are doing great work.
It must be so self satisfying.
Are you into self-degradation and ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale to?
What am I missing?
Than compares two things, then is something in the future.
The way I remember it is the "time" and "then" both have the letter e in them while than does not.
I'd rather hit an iceberg while paying that rake than sit at a table with people smoking like chimneys.
I'm old enough to remember how much my learn more here burned and how much of a headache I would get from similar experiences years ago.
I may be crazy, but you didn't ask a question in your post.
The implied question is "Is this rake beatable?
I doubt it is any different on a budget cruise.
Playing 20-30 big blinds, it is hard to make huge mistakes for any fish.
So I doubt these games are that beatable.
Of course someone will run it up in 30 minutes, but most of the money will get raked off the table.
Tourneys I ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale know but cash is beatable even with that rake.
I worked there, I saw what the players were like.
There were a handful of surprisingly good players, a lot of fun too.
That kind of drew in a couple new people each night who wanted to join in on the fun and they ended up happily losing money each time lol.
Just make sure you stick to your game plan for playing against bad players or you might stupidly lose out.
I agree, the tournaments were definitely not worth playing in when you could make that much money and more later in the night with less money from your bankroll.
Overall, if you connect with some good players, have some fun, and keep the rotating door of curious, unskilled players coming then you can certainly come out a couple hundred bucks up.
Never play poker on these cruise ships.
There is so much more value in playing "WPT Hold em" table game.
The dealers on these ships are terrible at this game.
They miss when they have straights and flushes.
I won at least 8 hands on the cruise playing heads up late at night when dealer didn't recognize he had a flush or straight and paid me off on a high card winner or single pair.
I haven't been on a cruise in years but last time I went, I remember practically begging people to play since they would only provide a dealer if there were a minimum of 4-5 players.
I would get 2 committed players and would stand next to the table randomly asking whoever walked up if they wanted to play poker and that we desperately needed 1-2 players for a game to happen.
It usually didn't work as someone else mentioned, people generally prefer the massively more EV casino games like slots.
Rake brutal but yea agree that insanely bad play more than made up for it.
I knew it was high but i didn't believe it was this bad.
I was on a a Royal Caribbean last year.
Rake was high and the players were absolute terrible.
Going on another cruise very soon, I will report back.
Conclusion: 5 players left, shoved AA and every player ncl poker challenge 2020 for sale />Winner was probably 9-2o that won with a flush.
The number of bad hands that made good by the river was absurd.
That's the result of two things; many people playing bad hands, and people not folding those bad hands.
